* The Klarman Eating Disorders Center at McLean Hospital provides
treatment for young women ages 13 to 23. The center is comprised of a highly
trained multidisciplinary team, of expressive therapists, nurses, nutritionists,
psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and teachers.
* Treatment includes a thorough initial psychiatric evaluation; review of
comprehensive physical examination and a complete review of the patient’s
medical history; psychotherapeutic interventions for the individual and family;
nutritional assessment and ongoing therapy; cognitive and dialectical
behavior therapies; symptom-management skills; ongoing psychiatric
assessment, including medications; creative arts, vocational therapy and
body image work; educational classroom through grade 12; social skills and
interpersonal relationship training; relapse prevention, and close coordination
of care and discharge planning with community-based treatment team.

*  Offers Residential and Partial Hospitalization programs.
*  Residential Program:  Runs seven days a week, with clients residing onsite
and a staff nurse and staff counselor available 24 hours a day. Clients
participate in both individual and group therapy and meet regularly with the
program's medical director, nurse, and dietitian. All meals and snacks are
provided for by the center, including meals on outings and trips.
*  Partial hospitalization: During the first week of PHP treatment, clients attend
programming onsite from 7:30 am until at least 7:00 pm.  After the first week,
an individualized schedule will be developed based on the needs of the client.
The standard PHP schedule runs weekdays from 7:30 am- 4:30 pm, but the
schedule may be extended or shortened as needed.
